Carpool, Transportation, and Dismissal Times

The Middle School Office is open between 7:45 am and 3:45 pm.

Breakfast

Middle school students have access to the breakfast service (billed to student account). This service is offered from 7:45 to 8:15 am in the Student Center.

Morning Arrival

Middle school students are not supervised prior to 7:45 am. From 7:45 to 8:15 am., students should report to the Student Center, the WAC, or their teachers if they are receiving tutoring. Any student arriving after 8:20 am. will be marked tardy. Tardy students report to the Security Office and then to the Middle School Office.

Daily Bus Riders

This year, daily bus riders will be dropped off and picked up in front of the school. Students must be registered through the Business Office to ride the bus.

Regular Dismissal

Middle School student dismissal is at 3:25 pm. Dismissal is to one of the following:
  • Carpool/walking pickup
  • Bus
  • Homework Lab (3:45-5:30 pm)*
  • Athletic or Fine Arts extracurricular activities*
Parents are responsible for picking up their students promptly from school. Students must either leave the campus or attend a formal after-school activity.

*Students attending Homework Lab or other after-school activities are supervised in the breezeway (outside the Middle School building) and the Walters Athletic Center (WAC) between 3:25-3:45 pm. Students attending an after-school activity that does not start promptly at 3:45 pm must be picked up by a parent/guardian or report to Homework Lab. Middle school students are not allowed to wander the campus unsupervised after dismissal.

Homework Lab

Homework Lab is available Monday through Friday in the Middle School from 3:45 to 5:30 pm, and no reservation is required. Students who are not picked up by 5:30 p.m. will be charged a late fee of $10.00 per 10 minutes late. Late fees will be billed to the student’s account.

Carpool Traffic and Safety

  • The Lakeview Academy neighborhood speed limit is 25 mph.
  • The campus speed limit is 10 mph.
  • Drivers are not permitted to use cell phones during drop-off or pickup.
  • Drivers are expected to obey the directions of the Lakeview faculty & staff. Please respond to their requests with kindness and courtesy.
  • Pedestrians have the right of way.
  • Middle school students should be dropped off in the middle school carpool lane (left-hand lane - see illustration above) unless they have lower school siblings. In that case, the middle school student and the lower school sibling may be dropped off in the lower school carpool lane.
  • Middle school students should be picked up from the middle school carpool lane (left-hand lane—see illustration above). If they have lower school siblings, they should all be picked up at the middle school pick-up time.

PLEASE do not park your car in the driveway areas used for carpools or buses. It is a safety hazard for our children to go around parked cars to find their vehicles, and it slows the safe flow of traffic for everyone. If you must park, please use one of the parking spots in the upper parking lot.
