Lakeview Academy is steadfastly committed to excellence in the personal growth and academic development of today’s student. Guided by this mission, The Keystone Program offers a unique learning opportunity for students with mild language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia.

As a school, we believe an essential part of our students’ long-term educational success is thoughtful consideration of their future academic journey. The goal of The Keystone Program is to provide our students with the tools and support they need to be successful both now and in the years to come.

  • A Commitment to Partnership

A keystone is the final and apex element placed in an archway, uniting and magnifying the strength of the individual components in the structure. In much the same way, The Keystone Program at Lakeview Academy represents the coming together of persons and their gifts with the singular goal of more effectively supporting the learning needs of today’s students.

When families entrust Lakeview with the education of their children, we commit to working in partnership to love, support, and cultivate the growth of each child.

  • Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (SB10)

What is SB10 and who is eligible?
SB10 (State Bill 10), also known as the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (GSNS), is a scholarship funded by the State that provides students in Georgia who have a special education eligibility under IDEA to use the funds the district would have received from the state to pay for tuition at an authorized, participating private school.  This potentially applies to any student with an active IEP or 504 plan.

To read more about SB10, please click here.

    What private schools are approved?
There is a list provided by the state (and updated annually) for parents to utilize when looking at private school options. You can find the list by clicking here.

How can I find out my child’s SB10 award letter and amount?
Parents can use the SB10 Calculator and enter their child’s information to generate their SB10 Award Letter. The SB10 calculator can be found by clicking here.

What do parents have to do to receive SB10 funds?
Parents who opt to utilize SB10 funds will be required to come to their chosen approved and participating private school once a quarter to sign the back of the SB10 check. All SB10 checks are sent directly to the participating private school.

What is the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
Georgia Promise Scholarship Program is aimed to empower families to pursue exceptional educational programs through nonpublic schooling, including private school. FAQS:

    1. If a student lives in an eligible attendance zone, but does not currently attend that school, are they still eligible?
Yes. A student does not have to attend the listed public school to qualify; simply residing in the attendance zone qualifies a family. For example, an elementary student residing in a low-performing high school zone would qualify.

    2. If a student qualifies for the Georgia Promise Scholarship is it dependent on the school staying on the eligible attendance zone lists?
No. Once a student qualifies and receives the scholarship, the student will keep the scholarship for the following years regardless of the attendance zone school's performance.
