Senior Laptops Collected and Factory Reset

During English classes
Seniors' school computers will be reset to factory settings during their last week of school (April 29th – May 2nd). On Monday, April 29th, laptops will be picked up by technology personnel during English Class for this mandatory reset. Seniors should save any valuable information as well as any usernames and passwords (including CollegeBoard, SAT, and/or ACT login information) before the deadline. Seniors may want to change these important accounts to use their personal email addresses since they will not have access to Lakeview email forever.

This wiping process includes:
  • All files are deleted from the computer.
  • All applications that don’t come standard with the computer will be removed (Google Chrome, Audacity, etc)
  • Lakeview’s site license subscription-based software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.), the antivirus & monitoring agents, and the web filter (Cisco Umbrella) will be removed.
Students will still have full access to all web-based applications, including the Lion Portal and Office 365, until September 15th, 2024. Access to all Lakeview licensed software or accounts (including Microsoft Office) will be disabled at that time.

***RECOMMENDATION***
It is recommended that seniors take the time now to ensure anything they want to keep is saved to a personal backup (Google Drive, your personal OneDrive, an external hard drive, etc).

If any repairs are needed to the computer, now is the time to get those done as the warranty and damage protection ends on June 30th. This should be done soon as there can be significant delays in the delivery of replacement parts. Please see Steve Williams in the laptop repair office to schedule a repair time.
